Thrilling youth dance theater
What is our future? This question was the starting point of collaboration between the young dancers aged 16 to 31 years and Patricia Noworol. The result is “It’s about them.” In order to formulate visions for the future, we must reflect upon the past and the present. The stories and thoughts of the dancers are shown through dance, text and video onstage. The result is a common rhythm, but in which space remains for individual expression and the different characters.
Dance is a possibility for the parties to discover their personality and character, and a way to exchange ideas and even to forget about the their troubles. The fun, the dream, but also the disappointment, the anger and the challenges of youth takes the characters energy and strength with no consideration given to their own exhaustion. Just as “It’s about them” could come only through them, our future can only exist with their support.
A Pottporus production in the context of “Next Generation “, a project of the Schauspielhaus in Bochum, the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the RUHR.2010. Funded by the prime minister of North Rhine-Westphalia. Partners: Germany Cultural Radio.
